Step 4
Please indicate the average/general outcome of this self-assessment (1, 3, 5) 3
Step 5
Provide a general statement about your music literacy confidence level including areas of needed improvement.
By doing this benchmark, I have realized I am relatively good at sight reading, general rhythms and even some more advanced rhythms, a little bit of ear training with intervals and recognizing the notes on the staff when played. I definitely need work on chords (recognizing the type of chord, the intervals, naming chords), bass clef, and more confidence in scales to get rid of the transposition confusion.
Step 4
Does this music from Mozart's Symphony 40 in g minor feel like it is grouped in 2 or 3 beats per measure? 3 BPM
Does this music from Haydn's Symphony 94 'Surprise' feel like it is grouped in 2 or 3 beats per measure? 2 BPM
Topics I should improve on:
- Bass chef notes
- Memorize Italian Terms
- Odd, Simple, and Compound Meter
